Meet the Disney Believe: Disney's newest ship

I've already booked my own family on her. Here's what we know so far, and why I'm so excited. (Details as of October 2026.)

The dark hull and gold name of a Wish-class ship at the pier, her sister the Disney Destiny

The Disney Believe is the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and the latest of the Wish-class ships, joining the Disney Wish, Treasure and Destiny. She sets sail on her maiden voyage on December 18, 2027, from Fort Lauderdale. Her first season sails mostly 4- and 5-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean, a perfect winter escape for Canadians.

What's new onboard

Disney revealed the first details in October 2026, and there's a lot to look forward to:

  • Tangled: The Musical, with a brand-new stage design and special effects
  • Encanto, making its debut as a brand-new Disney Cruise Line stage show
  • Oaken's Table, a new Frozen-inspired dining experience
  • Sea Notes, a Little Mermaid-inspired piano lounge
  • Café Kakamora and Big Hero Sips, two new spots for coffee and treats
  • New suites, plus returning favourites like the Haunted Mansion Parlor

More details will come out as we get closer to sailing, and I'll be sharing them as they're released.

Why I booked early

I booked a February 2028 sailing for my own family the week bookings opened. I'm hoping it lines up with my son's school break, but we won't know those dates until next year. That's okay: Disney is flexible about changing your sail date before final payment, so I locked in the room and the price now and can adjust later.

Disney uses dynamic pricing, and the opening day of a new ship is usually the best value you'll see. As each booking group gets its turn and rooms sell, prices tend to go only one way: up. Here's why early almost always wins.

The "secret" suites

Like her Wish-class sisters, the Believe has two Extended Verandah staterooms that live like one-bedroom suites, rooms 6196 and 6696. Each has a sofa and bunk on one side, a separate bedroom on the other, and a verandah that wraps around the corner of the ship, with two patio doors. That's the room I chose. They book fast, so if one is on your wish list, ask early.

Best value sailings

In the first release, some of the best value sailings were in January and late February 2028, with 4- and 5-night options. March Break sailings are popular, so they price higher and go quickly.

Ready to sail?

Whether you want the maiden voyage, a holiday sailing or a winter escape, find the sailing here and send it to me. I'll check availability, look for one of those secret suites on your dates, and get you booked, through me of course.
