The four classes
Disney builds its ships in classes: sisters that share a hull and a layout. Choosing a class is most of choosing a ship.
Wish class · 2022 to 2025, and 2027
The newest ships: the Disney Wish in 2022, the Disney Treasure in 2024 and the Disney Destiny in 2025, with the Disney Believe to come in 2027. About 144,000 tons each, 1,250 staterooms, three themed restaurants in rotation, the AquaMouse water coaster, a three-deck Grand Hall where the ship opens up, and a concierge tower suite inside the forward funnel. Nine in ten staterooms have a window or a verandah.
Who the class suits
Families who want the newest ship and the most to do on a short cruise: the three sail from Florida on three- to seven-night itineraries. The staterooms are a little smaller than the Dream class, the dining is the most elaborate, and the concierge deck is the largest in the fleet.
Disney Wish · Disney Treasure · Disney Destiny · Disney Believe (2027)
Dream class · 2011 and 2012
The two big ships of 2011 and 2012: the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, 130,000 tons and 1,250 staterooms each, the first with the AquaDuck water coaster and the virtual portholes in the inside rooms. Both were refitted in 2024 and 2025 with a new tower suite in the forward funnel and a new concierge lounge.
Who the class suits
The classic family week from Florida: the Fantasy sails seven nights to the Caribbean, the Dream three to five to the Bahamas. Generous staterooms, the split bathroom that Disney introduced, and the most verandahs for the money. The ships most of our families have sailed, and the ones they ask for again.
Magic class · 1998 and 1999
The originals: the Disney Magic of 1998 and the Disney Wonder of 1999, built in Italy with the look of a classic ocean liner. The smallest in the fleet at 84,000 tons and 875 staterooms, which is their charm: a short walk to everything and a crew that knows the ship. Both spent two weeks in dry dock in Victoria in 2026.
Who the class suits
Anyone who wants to see somewhere: these two go where the big ships don't, Alaska from Vancouver, the Mexican Riviera from San Diego, Texas from Galveston, the Panama Canal twice a year. Smaller pools and fewer slides than the newer ships; the same rotational dining, clubs and theatre.
The Adventure · 2026
The one-off: the Disney Adventure began sailing from Singapore in March 2026, the largest ship in the fleet at 208,000 tons and 342 metres, with four funnels, nineteen decks and room for about 6,700 guests. She was begun as another line's ship and finished in Wismar for Disney, and she stays in Singapore on short cruises to nowhere.
Who the class suits
Families in South-east Asia, and anyone who wants the biggest Disney ship for a long weekend: three- and four-night cruises that are mostly days at sea, with everything on board. Not a ship to see ports from.
